Deregulated Energy Prices Mean More Perk Options

Australian power and gas prices have never been more competitive. The perks of a fully deregulated sector is probably underlined by the intense competition that forces utility companies to bring in more subscriptions at the expense of profit. Even though you’ll notice that the base rates for utilities are somewhat standardized to keep the playing field honest, you can’t overlook the handful of tactics companies would resort to just to get ahead of the competition. Fixed and variable payment plans, rebates and loyalty discounts, and time-of-use options offer plenty of wiggle room for savings, if you know how to properly take advantage of these. You’ll have to be conscious of their tradeoffs, though; don’t let the perk options determine your decisions.
